Moderation in a challenge on social media platforms

Good to see improvements for the moderation on Bluesky. One of the reasons I reduced the amount of usage considerably was the amount of automated spam there, and lack of effective moderation.

For people complaining that moderation would be censorship, remember that all social media platforms (including Mastodon) are required to do certain levels of moderation to stay compliant with the laws and regulations. It is a constant challenge for truly distributed social networks like Mastodon that still lacks proper handling of account reputation data signals. There are multiple projects for improving how Mastodon etc. would handle moderation, both on individual servers and on a wider scale.
